It was announced today by Bishop Steven Evans that the Loevy & Loevy lawsuit, Evans v Joliet, has prevailed. Joliet is planning to repeal the April 17th pre-annexation agreement within the “next few weeks”.

The Evans v Joliet lawsuit was filed as a TRO (temporary restraining order) to stop Joliet from opening the pre-annexation hearing on April 13, 2020. The TRO was unsuccessful, and the pre-annexation agreement with NorthPoint was ultimately adopted by Joliet after five days of hearings. The lawsuit, which originally had four plaintiffs, effectively ended this week with Bishop Evans as the last remaining plaintiff.

Meanwhile, Joliet is preparing new NorthPoint hearings scheduled for this December 3rd and 10th.
