On behalf of Stone City Post VFW 2199 and Stop NorthPoint, LLC, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Department of Veterans Affairs for its letter of concern about NorthPoint. We have forwarded this letter on to the FAA as a follow-up to our request for the National Historic Preservation Act review.

“It should be duly noted that although we have been vocal in recent days and months, we are grateful for everything that Village of Elwood Clerk Julie Friebele and Mayor Doug Jenco have done to pursue this letter from the VA,” said Stone City Post Commander Kevin Pomykala. “We would also like to thank Joliet City Council Members Mike Turk, Don Dickinson and Bettye Gavin for standing with us veterans and being on our side.”

“For those of us ground troops who have been crawling on our bellies uphill one elbow at a time to fight the enemy, NorthPoint, this letter comes as tremendous air support,” said Erin Gallagher, spokeswoman for Stop NorthPoint. “Thanks to the VA and the Village of Elwood — you got our six.”

We encourage everyone to express their support of veterans in asking Senators Durbin and Duckworth and Representatives Kinzinger, Kelly, and Rush to rescind their support of NorthPoint by using the email link here.
