The Stop NorthPoint case was heard in the 3rd Appellate Court at 2:15 PM on November 28th, 2023 in Ottawa, IL. This is the “Quality of Life” case, where Joliet and NorthPoint were sued to protect Will County communities from destruction caused by the massive NorthPoint project.
Stop NorthPoint Attorneys Rick Linden and Bob Fioretti did a most excellent job fighting for our cause and we await the ruling.

The Will County Circuit Court's dismissal of the Stop NorthPoint "Quality of Life" lawsuit against NorthPoint and Joliet was reversed and remanded in a stern ruling by the Illinois Appellate Court on January 19, 2024. This is a huge victory for the citizens of Manhattan, Elwood, Joliet, and anyone living in the Will County region who would endure the destruction that this 4,000-acre project brings. Joliet's appeal of the Will County Circuit Court ruling in the Kieken v. Joliet FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) case was slapped down by the Illinois Appellate Court on October 17, 2023. This is a huge victory for all citizens who have a right to oversee their elected officials by requesting government information through the FOIA process.
