In June 2020, Joliet denied a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru pending a traffic study.

AUDIO: Joliet City Council Public Service Committee, June 15, 2020

Voice of Joliet City Councilman Larry E. Hug: “This is what… for approval for a special use permit for a drive-thru? … My concern is that, do we have traffic studies… how is this traffic flow going to affect Six Corners, during the, if you will, rush hour in the morning? That’s my question. Do we have any studies on that?”

Meanwhile, how is NorthPoint’s 4,000-acre industrial park going to affect ALL area traffic? THAT is a question we should ask.

DO WE HAVE any studies on that?

NorthPoint will add 15,000 trucks and 20,000 cars per day and yet we have NO TRAFFIC STUDIES?

In the last 2 years, Joliet City Council spent more time discussing traffic impact studies for a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru than for NorthPoint.
